DuoCam - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026. Describes the free version with ads, DuoCam Pro and the Remove ads purchase.
DuoCam is an app for iPhone that shows live public cameras from around the world, built for the iPhone Duo and working on any iPhone. It is published by LetsGetStashd™ Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17304979), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. LetsGetStashd™ Ltd is the data controller for the information described here.
The short version: DuoCam has no account or sign-in. It has no analytics and no crash-reporting service in it, and it does not track you. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which are non-personalised (see Advertising below); DuoCam Pro and the one-off Remove ads purchase show none. It asks for none of your permissions: not your location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts. Your favourites and settings stay on your device. We do not sell your data.
What DuoCam keeps on your device
Your favourites, any camera links you add yourself, and your settings are stored on your device only. They are not sent to us, and DuoCam does not back them up to any service of its own. Whether they are included in your iCloud or computer backup is decided by your own iOS backup settings.
What happens over the network
DuoCam needs the internet to work. These are the connections it makes.
The camera list
Each time you open the app it checks for, and downloads, a list of cameras (a small JSON file) from our hosting on Google Firebase Hosting (project name duocam-lgs). Like any web request, this means Google's servers see your IP address and standard request details such as the time, the app's name and version, and your device's type. DuoCam sends no account, no identifier of yours and no other information with the request.
Camera pictures and video
When you watch a camera, its picture or video is streamed straight from the camera's owner or host to your device, not through us. That means the owner or host can see your IP address, as with any website you visit. Some cameras play in YouTube's embedded player; for those, Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to the player.
The globe
The globe and its map use Apple Maps. Apple's privacy policy applies to the map data Apple receives to draw it.
DuoCam Pro and Remove ads
DuoCam Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, and Remove ads is a one-off purchase. Both are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account or your name. The app only learns whether a subscription or the Remove ads purchase is active. Apple's own privacy policy covers those transactions.
Shared camera links
A link to a camera starts letsgetstashd.com/cam. If DuoCam is installed, the link opens the camera in the app. If it is not, the link opens a page on this website, which is covered by the website section of our privacy policy (including its cookie choices).
When you report, suggest or remove a camera
When you use Report this camera, Suggest a camera or Ask us to remove a camera, DuoCam opens your own email app with a prepared message to support@letsgetstashd.com. Nothing is sent until you send it. The message holds the details of the camera concerned and the DuoCam version, plus anything you choose to add.
If you send it, we receive what you send, including your email address. We use it only to act on and answer your message, and we keep it only as long as we need to.
Snapshots and recordings
When you save a snapshot or record a clip, DuoCam hands the file to iOS's own share sheet and you choose where it goes. We never receive it. What happens to it after that is between you and wherever you send it.
What DuoCam does not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics and no crash-reporting service in the app.
- No personalised advertising. The ads in the free version are non-personalised.
- No tracking of you, and no profile built about you.
- No access to your location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts.
- No selling of your data, to anyone.
Advertising
The free version of DuoCam shows ads served by Google AdMob: a banner at the top and bottom of the screen and in Settings, and a full-screen ad when you open a camera, at most about once every five minutes. Ads never appear over a camera's picture, and a full-screen ad never starts on its own while you are watching. DuoCam Pro and the one-off Remove ads purchase show no ads, and with either of them DuoCam does not start Google's advertising software at all.
AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers and other data, such as your IP address, your device type and how you interact with an ad, to serve and measure those ads, as described in Google's own Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store that data ourselves. DuoCam asks AdMob for non-personalised ads only, and never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you.
If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, DuoCam shows Google's consent message the first time it opens, before any ad is requested, as the law there requires. You can change your answer at any time in Settings > Privacy choices.
Who processes the data
Our camera list is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Google processes the request data described above on our behalf under its own data processing terms, and may process it outside the UK; where that happens it is covered by Google's standard contractual clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Camera owners and hosts, YouTube, Apple Maps, Google AdMob (free version only) and Apple's App Store each act under their own privacy policies.
Children
DuoCam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). The only personal data we hold is what you choose to email us, so to ask for anything about it, including deletion, email support@letsgetstashd.com from the address you used.
Changes
If a future version collects anything beyond what is described here, this page and the App Store privacy label will both say so before that version ships.
